SUMMARY OF BENEFITS (limitations apply):
Participant accident: $10,000 medical benefit with $500 deductible.
General liability: $1,000,000, unlimited legal defense costs

​COVERED ACTIVITIES
  • Club rides – Group rides organized by Adobovelo (AV) members, including AV picnic rides, AV chapter weekend rides, informal rides organized by an AV member and with at least 2 AV riders.  If you are in an AV club ride, and you involve in an cycling accident, you have $10,000 medical coverage. If you are in an AV club ride, and you cause an accident that results in property or personal damage, you are covered by $1,000,000 general liability insurance.

EXCLUDED ACTIVITIES
  • Racing. Racing is any activity in which individuals are engaged in direct, speed competition with other riders. Not covered.
  • Mountain / Offroad biking. Not covered
  • Team Time Trials. Not covered
  • Special events. Bike rides organized by Adobovelo that charge an entrance fee are NOT covered, unless Adobovelo purchases specific insurance for that particular event.
  • Solo rides. Not covered. Because this is club insurance, you must be in a club ride to be covered.
  • Non-club rides. Rides organized by other clubs or organizations. Not covered.
HOW TO FILE AN INCIDENT REPORT
Step 1. Inform your chapter director about your accident as soon as possible.

Step 2. Complete the n Incident Report form provided my your Chapter Director.

Step 3. send the completed form to: [email protected] as soon as possible.*
*Don’t skip this step, as there’s no other way to gather the required information. This is not a claim form for submitting your expenses. This is just a notification to the insurance company that you were in an accident, so they can start a “case file”.  
Adobovelo’s insurance administrator will review your form for completeness, and then submit it to the insurance company.

Step 4. The insurance adjuster will contact Adobovelo to verify (a) your membership, (b) that your accident was during a club ride, and (c) that the event was not an excluded activity.

Step 5. The insurance adjuster will contact the injured member directly and provide the next steps.
